‘New councillor feels balance of authority could be better’ – Central Fife Times

12282058_10153658272353911_1982540805_oThe Central Fife Times saw fit to publish my reflections on the lack of diversity on Fife Council.

Our democratic structures are working when our council comprises a mixture of people from all different ages, social backgrounds, races, religions, genders, and sexualities. Currently that is not the case.

I am proud, however, to be a member of a political party that pays more than lip service to issues of equality. We cannot change the past, but we can learn from its mistakes. Along with my SNP colleagues, I will continue to seek a greater balance of representation at every level of public life.
